This week I’m making my second pit stop in The Gamers Garage and welcoming Rob Workman on to my podcast. Also known as theDCD, he has been a video game journalist for years, contributing to a number of notable websites. Our conversation is pretty heavy on the video games but Rob provides a lot of great anecdotes that anyone can appreciate. There’s lots to get to this week, so we better not delay. Enjoy.
On this weeks show, the crew has a bunch of reviews and impressions for you, as well as some off topic banter. They discuss Aliens vs Predator, Smackdown vs Raw 2010 and new Dragon Age: Origins DLC. Plus, a few new arcade titles thrown in there, too. Joining us this week as our guest is Alfred aka Maverick from Gamer Husbands.
Dante’s Inferno has been out for about a week and people are still wondering if it’s worth picking up. Is this game just a God of War clone, or can it stand on it’s own?
Unofficially dubbed the hardest working man in independent podcasting, I am joined this week by Danny Pena from GamertagRadio.com. You might know him as Godfree, the man with a video game podcast over 5 years old. We spend a good portion of this episode talking about Gamertag Radio, its origins, and the unique blend of hip-hop culture that his podcast brings to podcasting. We also highlight Gamertag Radio’s prized possession, Community Vibes. Enjoy.
Love Stinks! Trust me, Dolph Lundgren would agree as well. This week on the show, we have reviews for Bioshock 2, Heavy Rain and Master Blaster: Overdrive. Raychul breaks down the recent X10 event and we also give you our impressions on the Aliens VS Predator demo. Tune in to find out how you could win the game of your choice as well as Guitar Hero: Metalica and Aerosmith for the PS3.
Heavy Rain – is it going to be a huge success or a huge disappointment? Watch the video to see what Raychul thought of this PS3 exclusive by Quantic Dream.
One of the working titles for this week’s episode of Just Talking was ‘The Art of the Podcast’. Joining me for an hour of fun is Josh, also known as Crash from The Gamers Garage. (Yes, THAT Crash). He has been involved in podcasting for over 3 years. Simply put, he knows his stuff. We get into the ins and outs of podcasting for a majority of this episode. Topics included: what makes a good podcast, the joys of a diverse podcasting team, how to distinguish yourself from competition, and what other podcasting itches he would like to scratch. We also find time to talk about competitive gaming, Community Vibes and the pain and joy of seeing Brett Favre in a Vikings uniform. I hope you enjoy this one.
Oh yes, it’s true! This morning the latest Ghost Recon game in the series was finally announced. No exact release date has been released but, we’re looking at holiday season 2010. However, with Ubi’s track record of releasing Ghost Recon games, you’re probably looking at Spring 2011. Also, those that purchase the upcoming Splinter Cell: Conviction, will have access to a multiplayer beta arriving this Summer.
Here is a little highlight video taken from the Capcom Party at this years CES. Media/Press was there to get hands on with the upcoming title, Super Street Fighter 4, as well get their hands a bit dirty in some tournament action. Let’s just say I didn’t fare to well in the tournament but regardless of that, fans of the Street Fighter series will definitely be pleased with the outcome of the game. You can here our full impressions on the game and the event in our CES 2010 podcast here.
The entire crew is finally back for a show, God help us all. This week we have reviews for MAG, Dante’s Inferno and Mass Effect 2. Rob also talks about his recent trip to Las Vegas for the UFC Undisputed 2010 event and we also quickly touch on Xbox dropping support for their original titles. Joining us this week as our special guest is Chris from Post Game Report and Just Talking.
